Be Your OWN CEO

By Craig Johns

Be Your Own CEO – create your own high performance habits, boundaries & influence.

Most people would relate CEO to a chief executive officer being the highest-ranking person in a company or other institution, ultimately responsible for taking managerial decisions. How ever we have redefined CEO in terms of you and your energy.

Wouldn’t it be great to experience greater levels of energy more often in your life? … Do you know we are all CEO’s … the chief energy officer of our live’s? … And think how that energy effect’s other people and the way you behave.

Be Your OWN CEO

Human effectiveness is ultimately a function of human energy. How will you mobilize, focus, inspire and sustain your energy? Do you nurture, transform and direct your own human energy?

Life is both a marathon and a sprint. There will be energy highs and lows in life, and the key is how you manage that. You need to develop the ability to harness and mobilise your energy on demand. This is a massive asset that you need to take full ownership of

You Are The CEO

Are you accountable for every action you take and its result? Do you make a conscious and intentional choice before considering your commitments? it is important to know and understand what you can really give 100% attention to.

Successful leaders say NO more than they say YES. Are you living proactively or reactively? Be more proactive and take greater charge of your life. Be proactive by design versus reactive by default. How are you being proactive in clearly mapping out your priorities and desires?

Do you understand the business of your life? Your success depends on your attention to your entire “human” company. Break down yourself into different divisions of your own “human” company and create your OWN CEO Audit & Plan.

It’s now time for you to Be Your OWN CEO!

Active CEO Performance Tip

Build Your OWN TRIBE To Upgrade Yourself – The recent events have led to a lot of self reflection, you realise you need to upskill and upgrade, but you don’t feel like you have the right people around you to make the change. Who are the mentors, coaches & people in your proximity? 1. Identify and write down a list of every skill you want to upgrade. 2. Write down a list of people and/or types of people you need in your proximity to upgrade those skills. 3. Write down 3 curious questions that you would like to ask each person and make a phone call or send an email and ask for a virtual coffee.

active CEO Podcast OWN Your OWN Gratitude

Own Your OWN GRATITUDE

During times of unease or uncertainty it is easy to go insular and forget about the people around you. It is important to own your own gratitude, both externally and internally.

We need to OWN that GRATITUDE. What is it that we appreciate about ourselves? What is it that we thank ourselves for doing? What are we grateful for every single day?

Because it’s important to be kind to ourselves, and it’s important, and even more important, to be kind to other people.

Own Your OWN GRATITUDE

Here are three ways that you can provide that GRATITUDE to people around you and for yourself.

1. Send a message to at least one person per day to say thank you and show your appreciation.

2. Write down one thing you did well today and why?

3. Note one thing you can do tomorrow that will make someone feel happier?

What is your unique reality in the past, now & in the future?

You are in control of your own narrative. You get to write the story!

Many people are living someone else’s life or reality. On social media, everyone seems to have either an incredibly amazing or absolutely terrible life. Most of the time its an inauthentic life.

OWN Your OWN Freedom Craig Johns Breaking The CEO Code

Craig Johns talks about OWN Your OWN FREEDOM, the first of the 8 ways to own your OWN Influence.

OWN Your OWN FREEDOM

Find the passion, happiness & direction in your life!

Your passion can be anything in the world that challenges you, intrigues you and motivates you in life. It’s not about doing something you love so that it doesn’t feel like work, a passion is something that puts you to work.

Happiness is a feeling that occurs when you know your life is great and you just can’t help smiling. People feel happiness for different reasons, have you found your happiness or are you still in the pursuit of happiness?

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything. What is your reason for living, your purpose in life, and as Simon Sinek says “What is your why”? If it all starts with why, then what is the direction you are taking in life?

OWN Your OWN FREEDOM

Three questions to ask yourself in OWN Your OWN FREEDOM

  1. What makes you come alive?
  2. What are your innate strengths?
  3. Where do you add the greatest value?

If you are still struggling to identify your direction, there a 3 deeper questions that will bring you clarity, which are in this podcast episode.

active CEO Podcast #89 How Many CEO Performance Habits?

CEO Performance active CEO Podcast Breaking The CEO Code Craig Johns NRG2Perform High Performing Leaders

CEO Performance

Craig Johns talks about CEO Performance, the third P of the 3P’s of the Leadership Performance Formula. CEO Performance is about developing high performance habits, effective routines and important cues, while removing unwanted contamination and negative influence in your life.

How many CEO Performance habits do you have?

Humans are designed for boundaries in their life. Without clear boundaries it is easy to head down broken path or fall into a trap. Sometimes boundaries need to lose to ensure creativity and innovation can occur, and other times they need to be tight so you limit the distractions.

High performance habits involve unleashing your courage, improving productivity, raising necessity, remaining focused and creating clarity.

What are the routines you can create to reduce time wasting, increase ENERGY, REFLECT effectively, improve HEALTH, curiously GROW, enhance your PROXIMITY, and positively INFLUENCE others?

High performing leaders eliminate the unnecessary habits and negative distractions in their life, so they can energetically execute with focus, confidence and clarity.

What habits and routines do you need to break or create to ensure that you can be more productive and perform better?

Check out the newly Breaking The CEO Code whitepaper. It provides an overview of Breaking The CEO Code and showcases the 6 key phases. We also go a little deeper into the 2nd phase PERFORMANCE, where we discuss the 3 P’s of the Leadership Performance Formula.

Active CEO Performance Tip

Free Your Mind – We need to be very disciplined and attentive with our focus currency. It has become challenging to remain focused, be present and be attentive with globalization and technology driving constant contact 24/7. We can easily be bombarded with attention grabbing information, which can provide stressful emotions and be challenging to filter. Our workplaces have become custom-built to destroy both individual and team focus. We are exposed to constant chatter and noise in collaborative working and open plan workspaces. Ever growing number of scheduled meetings and internal emails can lead to overwhelm and scrambling to get “real work” completed before and after work, as well as the weekends. How temping is the lure of social media and social networking streams, status updates and instant gratification? It is important that you actively free your mind each day. This can be through exercise, meditation, walking in nature, listening to music, spending time with your children, breathing patterns, visualising positive and relaxing thoughts and for others it can be a walk in nature. How are you going to free your mind today?

Tweets

“Learn how to be your own cheerleader. Nobody is going to give you a tap on the shoulder, oh my gosh, you did a great job. You have to do it by yourself, you have to find your own mentors, you have to be very determined for what you do and have to know how to adapt and change to the circumstances.” Celebrating the small wins in entrepreneurship with Revital Golan, on the active CEO Podcast.

“Don’t think that you are sacrificing anything for anybody else.  Your kids never ask you to sacrifice anything for them. When they become 18 you can’t say that you sacrificed your career for them.” Revital Golan explains why it’s important to do it for yourself, on the active CEO Podcast.
