IMPACT Through Clear Outcomes
Today we are talking about IMPACT Through Clear Outcomes. How can you enable IMPACT through clear outcomes & team performance goals?
You can achieve IMPACT when there is a marked effect or influence on someone or something. To enable impact, it is really important to clearly define your outcomes. Outcomes are the destination that everyone is working towards.
To achieve outcomes, it is valuable to create clear stepping stones to get there, called team performance goals. A team performance goal is an idea of the future or desired result that a group of people envision, plan and commit to achieve by a certain date.
You may have heard of SMART Goals. SMART is an acronym for the following:
S – Specific – includes an answer to who, what, when, where, which and why questions
M – Measurable – what are the metrics that the team will reach along the way to achieving the goal? Milestones to achieve along the way.
A – Achievable – how important is the goal to you and what needs to be put in place to achieve it?
R – Relevant – does the goal make sense to the company or team vision and clearly articulated outcome?
T – Time-Bound – For a goal to be achieved it requires a realistic timeline. Providing time constraints also creates a sense of urgency.
